The Toyamura International Sculpture Biennale has been held at two-year intervals since 1993 and
it reached eighth meeting last year. We express our cordial thanks to the sculptors who had submitted
their works, all the other people concerned for their tremendous support and cooperation.
Through the “small sized” sculptural biennale with the theme, A Universe in the Palm of Our Hand ,
we send out our original culture to the world and based on this cultural activity, the town looked to
be revitalized and designed itself to be a cultural atmosphere.
In recent years, the financial environment surrounding many local governments is difficult.
Our town also has an urgent task in financial condition to be improved. Despite of long standing activity,
it is unfortunate that we discontinue Toyamura International Sculptural Biennale for the moment.
